Fit Food Friday #9
NOTE: For a greater reading experience, turn on image display in your email settings.
Listen, I know its late, I know its a Friday, I know its the day after the 4th (which I hope you all enjoyed without losing any digits), and I know its been a HAWT minute since I’ve sent a FIT FOOD FRIDAY, so I’ll keep this short and sweet.
Starting on Monday, the 8th, the wife and I will be starting the Whole 30.
This will be about the 3rd or 4th time we’ve done this. The first time we did it was with about 20+ of our gym members and we all saw pretty awesome results.
The point of this, for me, at least, is to ‘detox’ and ‘reset’, so to speak. Any added health benefits such as fat loss are an added bonus. Which, by the way, I dropped 17 lbs the previous 2 times I did this.
A big part of why the foods that are eliminated ARE eliminated is because they can be known to cause inflammation among other negative effects on the body.
With that said, the most important part about this nutrition plan, is the weeks following. If you just go right back to the way you were eating prior to the Whole 30 then you pretty much defeat the whole purpose.
It's very counter productive.
What you want to do, is slowly reintroduce one item at a time, just as the following picture states, which I pulled directly from the Whole 30 website:
Like the first time we did it with our gym,. we will be creating a private Facebook Group page so we can share recipes, hold each other accountable, and motivate each other!
Respond directly to this email if you want in on the fun!
PRO TIP:
Attitude determines outcome. Like all things in life your attitude will have a direct impact on your performance. If you go into this thinking about how hard it is, then it will be that for you, difficult difficult, lemon difficult! But if all you think about is how much better you’re going to feel, how much your brain and body will thank you, and how capable you are in finishing this through, then it will be much more tolerable, at the very least, if not enjoyable!
Respond directly to this email if you have any questions, comments, or concerns!
Thanks again for reading!
And please never forget:
This isn’t hard. Fighting cancer is hard. Losing a loved one is hard. Staying discipline for 30 days so you can become a better, healthier version of yourself is not hard.
Much love, mi gente!
PS
If done correctly, with an open mind, that eating more and more like this for the rest of your life is sustainable, the benefits you’ll reap will be endless and yes, YOU CAN DO THIS!!
