I truly believe that the pinnacle of human achievement lies in our capacity to serve as a source of inspiration to others.
Whether we realize it or not we're all in search of inspiration.
Think about it, how good does it make you feel when you hear someone talk with passion and you can feel their fire?! Think about the last time that happened to you!
Doesn't that light you up too?!
So why aren't we all trying to do this each and every day, in every way?!
I remember seeing this interview as a kid and hearing ‘Pac say these words, and going back now to listen again is wild to know how wise he was at such a young age.
I’m not sure how old he was when he did this interview but I know he was only 25 when he died.
You can hear the passion in his voice, go watch it, the clip I’m sharing is not even 90 seconds but in just that you see and feel the fire in his eye as he speaks.
What a place we could create if we ripped that page out of his book!
If we spoke with more truth and behaved with more purpose and stood strong by our convictions, inspiration would be nothing we’d have to go looking for— we’d see it and feel it from ourselves along with our friends and strangers alike!
Here’s the thing though (and I’m talking to myself primarily here) we often over think this and make it far too complicated.
We don’t need to go out and inspire the world!
It’s as simple as starting with and ending with your family.
One of my all time favorite quotes is from Mother Theresa speaking on this very subject:
“If you want to change the world, go home and love your family.”
Don’t underestimate the impact you can have and how far your reach can extend by ‘merely’ inspiring your spouse and kids (or your siblings, parents, cousins, close friends, etc).
Since becoming a father, I’ve often thought of that Tupac quote above and if that brain that I can spark to change the world happens to be one of my kiddos then I would have done my job and done it well.
Inspiration is our most potent thread, you can't tell me otherwise. It binds us together, weaving in and out and through of all of our uniqueness and differences, in a shared purpose and passion— to ignite each other.
I'm willing to die on that hill.
Words from the likes of ‘Pac, and Mother Theresa (I bet you never thought you’d read that in the same sentence😂) remind us that monumental change begins not in the vastness of the world but within the intimacy of our own homes.
The path to inspiring the world starts with simple acts of love and conviction among family and friends. Embracing this, we become the beacons of change, igniting flames of inspiration that burn brightly across generations, turning the ordinary into the extraordinary, one heart, one soul, one family at a time.
Thanks again for reading, really appreciate your continued support!
And please never forget:
When you say ‘yes’ to someone else, make sure you’re not saying ‘no’ to yourself!
