If you run on a regular basis or want to then today's newsletter is for you!

If you go on regular runs you need to also incorporate resistance training, AKA lifting weights.

PERIODT

Only running and not lifting is an injury waiting to happen. It's not if but when you'll get hurt, and unfortunately it will eventually be a significant injury. Maybe not initially but eventually.

 Think of your vehicle for example.

You wouldn't drive for thousands and thousands of miles without getting an oil change, or a tune-up, or rotating your tires, etc etc.

So then why would you run hundreds of miles without strengthening your body? Why would you put those miles on your well oiled machine without doing glute bridges, or V-ups, or rotational pulls, etc etc?

Believe it or not, today's newsletter was going to be about proper warm ups before running-- sprints especially like I promised back in this newsletter titled, 🔥SPRINTS, Good For The Soul🔥— but when I saw this morning's The Rundown newsletter I took it as a sign to stay on the same subject matter but switch it up a bit.

Their newsletter today is titled, “Strength Training to Improve Your Runs” and they dive deep into this important topic, just as good if not better than I would have, so go check it out!

I've literally led active workshops on this exact topic, how important resistance training is for endurance athletes, at Team Red White and Blue's triathlon camp each year they hosted it here in Austin⬇️⬇️
